DESCRIPTION:Helaas\, afgelast.\n\nDonderdag 2 april BOO BOO DAVIS\nBoo Boo Davis is a survivor and belongs to the last generations of musicians that write and play the blues based on first hand experience of a hard life in the Mississippi Delta. He was born and raised in Drew\, Mississippi in the heart of Delta. It was the richest cotton land in the South and the large amounts of field workers attracted the best musicians from the surrounding areas. The entire Delta region was rich with blues\, but the town of Drew was a particularly fertile one. Charley Patton stayed near Drew for many years and several legendary performers spent time there. Sharecroppers sang loudly to help pass the grueling hours of work and without a doubt Boo Boo developed his loud\, bellowing voice based on the singing he heard in the fields as a young boy. In fact\, that voice\, through the years has demolished many amps and speaker cabinets.\n\nBoo Boo’s father\, Sylvester Davis farmed cotton and played several instruments. Musicians who he played with include John Lee Hooker\, Elmore James and Robert Pete Williams. Boo Boo remembers these and other musicians dropping by and rehearsing at their house. At the age of five Boo Boo was playing the harmonica and singing in church with his mother. By thirteen he was playing guitar\, and by eighteen he was playing out with his father and older brothers under the name of The Lard Can Band. This band travelled all throughout the Delta. In the early sixties he went north to St Louis and was around during the heyday of the St Louis music scene (Albert King\, Ike Turner\, Chuck Berry and many others). Together with his brothers they were the weekend house band in Tubby’s Red Room in East St Louis for eighteen years.\nEven though Boo Boo moved north to St. Louis\, he will always be a southerner at heart. When he is at home (and not performing) his favorite pastimes are hunting with his dogs and fishing. During Boo Boo’s childhood there was no time or money for him to go to school so he never learned to read and write. However that did not prevent him to travel all over the world. Following his guiding spirit (that he calls Dave) Boo Boo has found a way to deal with modern society. The blues helps him to keep his spirit high and survive day-to-day life. It deals with all the basic raw elements of life; good and bad\, plain and simple.\nHis first European tour took place in April 2000 and since then Boo Boo is touring Europe at least twice a year. So far Boo Boo has released 5 CD’s on Black and Tan Records and all of them were very well received. Number 4 (DREW\, MISSISSIPPI) was listed with the 10 best blues records of 2006 by MOJO Magazine (UK). In 2007 Boo Boo was invited to perform on the POCONO BLUES FESTIVAL\, one of the biggest blues festivals in the USA and in March 2007 Boo Boo  performed live on CBC Radio One\, national radio in Canada.\nWhat started as a crazy idea after the European tour of Boo Boo in October 2007 has turned out to be not too crazy at all. On the Spring Tour of 2008 they decided to leave out the bass and tour as a trio: Boo Boo Davis on vocals & harmonica\, John Gerritse on drums and Jan Mittendorp on guitar. This trio has been touring Europe extensively; the last few years they did over four hundred shows in twenty three different countries including a lot of the big blues & jazz festivals (Montreux\, Peer\, North Sea Jazzfestival\, Juan les Pins\, Amal\, Cazorla Bluesfestival\, Olstzyn)\nAanvang 21.00 uur entree 10\,-

DESCRIPTION:Vrijdag 3 april MOONSTAR\nBluesband MOONSTAR is ontstaan in 2017. Na diverse audities\, wijzigingen van opzet en stijl begon vanaf oktober 2018 de band haar definitieve vorm te krijgen. Inmiddels is de samenstelling en het repertoire van de band gereed en wordt er hard gewerkt aan de promotie van de band.\n\n\n\n\nDe stijl varieert van jazzy blues ballads (‘Temptation’\, ‘Moondance’ etc.) tot authentieke blues zoals ‘Ghetto woman’ en ‘The thrill is gone’. Favoriete zangeressen zijn o.a. Marva Wright\, Etta James\, Eva Cassidy\, Bettey Lavette en Diana Krall. Door de karakteristieke stem van Diana krijgen de songs een spannend karakter. Alle muzikanten hebben in de loop van de tijd hun sporen meer dan verdiend in diverse bands met veel gigs.\nDe band\, vernoemd naar drummer John Maanster\, bestaat uit Diana Hanss (zang)\, Hans Andriessen (solo gitaar)\, Dick Mohlmann (gitaar)\, Frans Beekenkamp (bas) en John Maanster (drums).\nAanvang 22.00 uur vrij toegang.

DESCRIPTION:Zaterdag 4 april: The Rude Move \n \nOpgericht in 2008 onder de rook van Rotterdam heeft The Rude Move in de afgelopen jaren een goede naam als verrassende en energieke bluesband opgebouwd bij menig café en op festival podia in Nederland. \nMet stevige maar vooral gevarieerde Blues/ BluesRock covers\, stomende\, rauwe of meeslepende solo’s\, een gevoelige slow of een stevige Rock & Roll song dragen deze heren hun steentje bij aan de blues scène. \nJimi Hendrix\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, ZZ Top\, Omar and the Howlers en eigen nummers worden met passie en plezier gespeeld. Want op het podium heeft The Rude Move altijd plezier en daar ligt de kracht van deze band. DESCRIPTION:FAT BOTTOM BLUES \n\nFat Bottom Blues is opgericht in het najaar van 2016 en is geformeerd rond zangeres Petra\nter Denge. Een geweldige zangeres met een groots stemgeluid. Petra laat zich begeleiden\ndoor drie zeer ervaren muzikanten die ieder al vele jaren tourden in binnen- en buitenland.\nFat Bottom Blues speelt zowel klassieke als moderne blues en blues-rock nummers met een\ngeheel eigen sound. Hun inspiratie vonden ze bij imposante grootheden als Etta James\, Ray\nCharles\, Tina Turner\, Joss Stone\, Albert King\, Joe Bonamassa\, BB King en Beth Hart.\nVoor muziekliefhebbers is een optreden van Fat Bottom Blues een ware beleving!

DESCRIPTION:Zaterdag 11 april (2020): BLUESROCKBAND LA GRANGE \n \nBluesrockband La Grange werd opgericht in 2005 en heeft tot 2016 met veel succes opgetreden in de Nederlandse bluesscene.Van 2016 tot 2017 heeft de band een time-out ingelast ivm andere projecten!\nIn 2017 heeft de zanger/gitarist Frans Liebregts de band weer nieuw leven ingeblazen en heeft daarbij een drietal nieuwe muzikanten aangetrokken.\nInmiddels heeft de band een voortvarende herstart gehad en zijn er vanaf 2018 weer diversen optredens geweest en hebben zij op diverse grotere podia gestaan!\nDaarnaast hebben zij met veel succes in 2018 een aantal support optredens gedaan met Big Monti Amundson USA\, Aynsley Lister band UK\, Flavium NL. \nDe recensies en feed-back vanuit het publiek zijn overweldigend.La Grange komt dan ook Life het beste tot zijn recht.\nDe band bestaat uit frontman Frans Liebregts die met zijn behendig prachtig solowerk menigeen tot ontroering\,verbazing en enthousiasme brengt.\nKaleka keys \,hammond\,piano\, met afrikaanse roots is een jonge getalenteerde muzikant die in Kenia beroepsmuzikant is geweest en daar op de grotere festivals en clubs met zijn eigen band heeft gestaan. \nGiel Samuels op bas die met zijn achtergrond vanuit de Soul/funk de band \,buiten de bluessound\, ook een andere dimensie kan geven.\nMarcel Boss op drums die samen met Giel Samuels een steady basis neerzet waarop de band kan bouwen. Daarnaast kan hij ook nog rocken als het moet. \nKortom La Grange is een band die je niet mag missen als je van bluesrock houd en thuishoort in het rijtje: melodieus\,professioneel\,internationale sound\,bluesrock\,stevig\,gevoelig! Aynsley  is de afgelopen jaren  een graag geziene gast gebleven in het Bluescafe in Apeldoorn. Al jaren achtereen wordt hij genomineerd voor de British Blues Awards met als logisch gevolg dat Aynsley Lister in 2015 nog als beste bluesgitarist het jaar mocht afsluiten. . De tour die gepland staat rondom zijn op 7 oktober nieuw uit te komen album “Eyes Wide Open Tour” brengt hem door half Europa en veelal staan er meerdere optredens op stapel.\nAynsley Lister laat weten op ‘Eyes Wide Open’ terug te gaan naar zijn oorsprong en dat we zowel op dit album als tijdens de live optredens weer ouderwets veel gitaarwerk kunnen verwachten.\nWhen explosive natural ability collides with fiery\, emotionally charged compositions\, the result is Aynsley Lister; an incredible guitarist whose brand of blues-based rock delivers contemporary song writing fuelled with the kind of heart and soul that’s missing from so much modern music.  Whether passionately writing and recording his own material or mesmerising audiences at his live shows one thing is abundantly clear: music is hard-wired to his DNA and flows from his fingertips like sonic bolts of lightning.  With over 100\,000 albums sold\, lashings of critical acclaim and years of high profile touring\, Lister’s resumé speaks for itself and firmly secures his position as a leading light in the resurgence of British blues-infused music. In hindsight\, it’s clear Aynsley was born to be a musician.  As a child he was hypnotised by his dad’s old guitar and at the age of eight was finally gifted his very own.  The moment he held that first six-string the outcome was inevitable; he was going to be a guitarist.  Blessed with the coolest dad in town\, regularly spinning Hendrix\, Cream\, Fleetwood Mac and a whole host of bewitching blues for his spellbound son\, Aynsley taught himself to play with relentless dedication and a precociously attuned ear\, spending hours copying his favourite records note for note.  Peter Green\, Albert King\, Clapton and Kossoff weren’t just his heroes; they became his teachers. Blazing a trail in a bar band from the age of 13 honed his skills and in 1998 Thomas Ruf signed Aynsley to his label\, hooking him up with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s producer Jim Gaines to record his self titled debut disc\, kicking off a successful relationship with Ruf Records that saw him release 7 albums and 2 DVD’s in ten years.  Their influence\, coupled with his dynamite live shows and intense touring schedule\, earned high profile support slots with established artists like Walter Trout\, John Mayall and Robert Cray\, whilst rousing festival appearances alongside artists like the Fun Lovin’ Criminals cemented his standing as an artist whose work\, although rooted in blues\, transcended the genre with a fiery modern sound.  In 2007 Aynsley was the only British artist to be named in Classic Rock magazine’s “Top 10 Contemporary Blues Artists”\, alongside John Mayer and Joe Bonamassa.  In 2008 Aynsley’s huge crossover potential saw him sign to Manhaton Records and the following year released  ‘Equilibrium’\, an album that exposed Lister in his best ever form and stormed into Classic Rock’s Top 50 Albums of 2009.  The subsequent tour saw Aynsley playing to sold out shows to over 16\,000 people whilst opening for the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd\, after which he and his band relocated to the Tower Arts Centre and with the tape rolling\, nailed a cracking rendition of their high-octane live set to produce the storming ‘Tower Sessions’ record\, which was consequently voted ‘Best Live Album’ in the 2011 Blues Matters Writers Poll.\nAanvang 22.00 entree € 15.

DESCRIPTION:Maandag 27 april PERSONA NON GRATA\nPersona Non Grata is een akoestische rockband uit het Noorden des lands met zanger René Muthert (Wildrose\, Lightnin)\, bassist Harry Kuypers en gitarist Alex Gache (Neighbours\, Boven Peil). De band begint als coverband\, maar schrijft ook eigen songmateriaal met commercieel oogmerk. Gache verlaat de band en met onder meer drummer Henk Torpedo wordt de single Samen/Vleugels (1999) opgenomen. Na het uitkomen van de single vertrekken ook Kuypers en Torpedo. Muthert gaat met producers Michiel Hoogenboezem\, René Houwen en Niels Lingbeek (Galaxy) de studio in voor opnamen van een volledig album. Lingbeek speelt ook live mee in een bezetting die aangevuld wordt door toetsenist Ard Offers (Galaxy\, Melrose\, Hooked On Red)\, drummer Nils Offers (Galaxy) en bassist Robert Homan (Hooked On Red). Kort na het opnemen van de cd trouwt René Muthert in 1999 met Patty Brard (Luv’). Zonder hem gaan Gache en Kuypers als Persona Non Grata door als akoestische coverband\, aangevuld met zanger Bart Schwertmann. In 2011 komt de originele bezetting bij elkaar voor een reünieoptreden. Daarna touren Muthert\, Kuypers en Gache weer door Nederland met op het repertoire rockklassiekers van onder anderen The Eagles\, The Police\, The Beatles\, The Rolling Stones\, Bon Jovi\, Bryan Adams en Lynyrd Skynyrd.\nAanvang 16.00 uur vrij toegang.
